My name is Duncan Bell and I am 55 years of age. I am married to Becci and have 5 grown children and 2 growing grandsons .
I worked as a manager at Waitrose on the Isle of Wight until I traveled to Phnom Penh in Cambodia where I worked as a missionary for two years from June of 2012. During that time I worked for two different Non Governmental Organisations (NGO’s). One of which worked in the slums in the south of the city providing help and support to the many needy families and addressing their various needs. My wife and I became Team Leaders for this organisaion in Cambodia. The other NGO I worked for offered work to former sex workers so that they could leave their former way of life behind.I had various jobs and responsibilities there including managing the Visitors Centre and being intercessory prayer coordinator.
I have since set up a charity that enables people to sponsor a child from the slums to go to a good school, receive a good education, get good qualifications, and move on in life. The charity is called Helping Hand Cambodia and offers hope and opportunities to children and in some cases support to their families.
For the time being I have given up “the day job” to run this charity and look forward to what the future holds.
